Blitzan Eternal Treasure - Mazy
Diva's Eternal Litter 24/01/09

Our family consists of myself, my husband Richard, daughter Charlotte (born 2001) and son Marcus (born 2003).  In addition we have Domino and Mazy, our Large Munsterlanders, Pebbles the cat and Smokey the rabbit.

She has been an easy puppy, the only issue we really have is her greediness; she will steal any food if in reach, we’re still working on this problem, which she may have copied from Domino!  Bringing a puppy into the house with 7 and 5 year old children was a challenge in itself, but they adore Mazy and she has learnt to be gentle with them and loves to play fetch and jump on their trampoline.  I have to watch that Charlotte doesn’t empty the sweetie cupboard when she gets a bit carried away with training Mazy and Domino.  It took a while for Domino to accept a new dog in the house, especially one so playful, but after a few weeks they started to play together and are now good friends.

Mazy came to live with us on 15th March 2009, at 7 weeks old.  She is adored by us all, especially Charlotte and myself who have been training her for the show ring and already been to a few shows winning certificates and rosettes

I have taken Mazy to puppy training classes; we chose a class that is held outside in hope that this would be better for her recall training which is important living in such a rural area with deer and rabbits everywhere.  She has done well, achieving some awards already for her recall and stand/sit stays.  Mazy will soon join Domino at a doggy social group held fortnightly where lots of different breeds mix together. I was keen to work on Mazy’s socialisation early and so far she is a confident dog (a bit too confident sometimes), eager to please and easy to train.  When she is old enough, we’ll try Agility and some Gundog Training too.

I work from home, therefore I’m always here for the dogs, and the longest they are left is 3 or 4 hours very occasionally.  When we go on holiday, the dogs come with us; they love the change of scenery as much as us. Usually we’ll stay in a pet friendly holiday cottage, or the odd night at a Travelodge. Mazy has even camped a few times when we have travelled a long way to shows.

Mazy is a joy to have live with us (Richard might say different!), if I had my own way we would have a couple more Large Munsterlanders, they are addictive, all alike but different in their own way too.

What Karen didn't mention was how she and Mazy started showing this year for the first time, at her very first Championship show Mazy qualified for Crufts, no mean feat, and something I am very proud off, they are both doing very well. If you are considering a Large Munsterlander and have young children why not email Karen and ask any questions you may have, you can of course email me too.
