Blitzan Summertime Star Over Rixbriar
'Stella' 10th June 2007 Summer and Strider's litter ![]() Mum & Dad - Summer and Strider Stella came to live with her Daddy Strider (Rixbriar Blaze of Glory), Granddad Jiggy, Grandmother Majik and Aunty Princess Keisha, in August 2007. It was only meant to be for a few weeks but once in the door her paws became firmly stuck under the table and on her human daddy, so it was stated that she was never to leave us. ![]() ![]() Stella & Princess Keisha (Logi's Daughter) Her show career started of well winning 2 best puppy in breed awards but she soon decided that she didn’t want to be a model like her Aunty Keisha or Granddad Logi. So not being the sort of person to make them do something that they didn’t enjoy we knocked that part of her life on the head.
Stella would like to be a working girl instead. Born to please you. She is on a learning curve at the moment with my Daughter Lauren doing the training (they both are learning) Stella can hold a steady point but unlike her granddad who also holds a very steady point with his front foot, Stella points with both front and back , not at the same time I must add. One for feather and the other for fur, something that Lauren finds quite amusing. They are working on the delivery to hand at the moment but Stellie is still young and they enjoy working and training together which is the main thing. ![]() ![]() At home Stella is a loving very biddable laid back girl who just loves having raspberries blown on her neck or under the chin. Some people especially the children’s friends think that she is trying to suffocate them when she covers their faces with her head when all she really wants is a raspberry. 'Does this fat puppy look like she lacked anything, so many toys we wore her out!!!!!!'.... Ali We live on a housing estate on the outskirts of Bristol, so the dogs (all 6) have learnt that a lot of noise or barking is just not acceptable I also go out to work A shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off, so the dogs have to spend time on their own, which they all cope with very well. ![]() Seeing that I go to work Stella feels that she should help with the housework. The main thing she likes to do is tidying up!!!! If you leave your shoes/boots hanging around the living floor she has to put them away, the same with your coffee mug, kitchen utensils, even the dogs feeding bowls she collects up. The only trouble is that she puts them all away in either her crate or her Daddy’s crate. She never chews or damages anything just loves to save them up for you. If you can’t find something in our house its go look in Stella’s cage. We think her breeder deprived her of toys and such things when she was a puppy!!!! She has had a busy week this week. We have been joined by Buckley-Binx of Rixbriar a 16 week old Lurcher puppy, who Stella has taken under her wing. The rest of the family like him too, but saying that they are used to other dogs coming into the house. The extended family in Hampshire often come to visit, just like we go down to the Blitzan family for a visit, they can get quite excited when they meet each other. And just love going out together.
Stella can also sulk, she had little accident this week and needed to have 3 stitches in her side (barb wire) The vet wanted to give it a good clean and stitch it so I had to leave at the surgery for a couple of hours. Well she wouldn’t look or speak to me when I collected her or all that evening. We had to go back the next day for a check; my vet doesn’t like to give out Anti-B’s or pain relief unless it is really needed. Well in the waiting room she sat 3 chairs down from me or as far as her lead would reach with her back to me. The vet came out and said oh dear she’s still not talking to you then? What would she be like if she had to come in for an operation? Would she spend a whole month with her back to you? So in the consulting room Stella turned her back on the vet, and when she was spoken too she told the vet exactly what she thought, to which the Vet said yes I do agree!!!! To end with Stella is just a loving very easy girl that has fitted into our home, family and hearts.
